The New England Writers’ Centre is pleased to announce that bookings have opened for single and extra pitch sessions with four publishers and an agent visiting Armidale(northern NSW) for our Pitch Perfect program in October. You can book a maximum of two pitch sessions, with a discount offered for the second pitch session. If booking two sessions, book a Single Pitch session first, then an Extra Pitch session. If booking only one, simply go for the Single Pitch Session.
Don’t delay—spots are limited and will go fast! Bookings close on October 1.
(You don’t have to be a New England resident to book, but you do need to be able to travel to Armidale for the weekend )

Pitch sessions will be held on Friday October 28 and Saturday October 29. Each pitcher will have strictly 10 minutes to pitch. Pitch sessions are private, and one-on-one.

Important: after booking you must notify the Pitch Perfect co-ordinators what you are planning to pitch, including whether it’s for children, young adults or for adults, so that we can match you with the perfect publisher/agent fit! To do this, contact the co-ordinators at newcpartners@gmail.com

The Friday session, held in the Writers’ Centre, is in the morning, and only with Lucy Bell of Pantera Press, who is interested in both adult and YA books (but no children’s). The Saturday sessions, held in Granny Fi’s Toy Cupboard, 120 Dangar St, will run in both the morning and the afternoon, and feature children’s/YA publishers Clare Hallifax of Scholastic and Jodie Webster of Allen and Unwin, and in the afternoon, adult fiction publisher Meredith Curnow of PenguinRandomHouse, and literary agent Tara Wynne of Curtis Brown. To see more about all our visiting professionals and what they are looking for, see here.

Please note that you should not specify the publisher or agent to pitch to: we match you according to what you are pitching. You will be notified in early October about who you will be pitching to, and your session time and place.
