| I did 200 words but I also had to stop and re-think some of the plot |

Well done Jill, and differently well done Paula. Jill, I Like your snippet -- intriguing, and good quality dialogue. I managed 800 words, but they were only scene summaries, so length is not all that germane! Better to say that I've mapped about a quarter of the MS as it stands. |

Jill: 600 words, that’s definitely an achievement. I love the dialogue. Seems very witty, very YA. Kudos. Paula: That’s great! Means you’ve got a feel for the story. I hope it remains that easy for you! Robin: Plot’s always important. Can’t keep going if you don’t know what the next step is. Still, 200 words is good. Chip away, a little bit at a time. |

David, are you one of those planners? If any of you find yourselves at the University of Queensland, I'd suggest checking out the Fryer Library. They have collections of manuscripts there, from start to finish. Some of them have copious amounts of notes - a novel's worth, almost! It's nuts. |

I'm off to throttle my computer. I've spent the last two days reinstalling windows and everything else, and it still isn't playing nicely. Happy writing! See you in a couple of weeks. |

| I'm one of those planners! My plan for my novel is 50% larger than the novel itself. Perhaps I should try to get the plan published instead. |

Peter: Nick Earls is famous for it, I think. He has notes on everything. Post-its and random bits of paper. It's amusing to sift through. And you should keep all those notes. When you're a published author you can submit all your manuscripts and development to places like the Fryer Library. It's tax deductable! Or something. I'm not quite sure, but it's good for you! |

| Thanks Chloe. And well done on your captaincy tonight! Consider yourself to have 'P' plates (if you have those in QLD). |

Thanks, Peter! I had a good time. And we do have those in QLD. ^_^ I'm off, too. Need to make myself a cuppa before my TV show starts. Good luck at the Writer's Festival, and have a fabulous time. |
