  • 2012 Maj Monologues Competition
    Please note that entry to the competition is open to all permanent residents of Western Australia only. Write a monologue with a performance duration of eight to 10 minutes and submit the original plus five copies to His Majesty's Theatre. Competition has a different theme each year, see website for details.
  • Gulgong Henry Lawson Society of NSW Inc Written Poetry Awards
    Presented in honour of Henry Lawson, who grew up in the Gulgong area. Open Written Poetry, for a ballad with good rhyme, rhythm and metre, no word or line limit.
  • Essential Energy Leonard Teale Memorial Performance Poetry Award
    Named in honour of an avid Henry Lawson follower and the Society's former patron. Award is for a recorded reading of an Australian poem by a poet of the entrant's choice. Entrants must submit a tape or CD of their performance poem. Up to 10 finalists are chosen and must perform at annual Literary Dinner (Saturday of June long weekend) in Gulgong to be eligible for award.
  • Gulgong Henry Lawson Society of NSW Inc National Student Literary Awards
    Awards for Short Story or Poetry (not necessarily in the style of Henry Lawson), 1,000 words maximum, open theme. Two sections: Primary School students, Years 3-6 (NSW) or other state equivalent; Secondary School sudents, Years 7-10 (NSW) or other state equivalent.
  • CYA Conference Writing & Illustrating Competition
    Competition includes categories for preschool aged picture books, primary-school aged picture books, non- fiction picture books, young adult chapter books, graphic novels and illustrated picture books, and illustration. Published author section. Please see website for further details and to confirm closing date.
