A listee is someone who wishes to list their company, event, competition, market, service or organisation that is relevant to Australian and New Zealand writers. It is free to list your company (except Writers' Services which incurs a fee of $49.95) but you will not have access to our database.

  • Kathleen Mitchell Literary Award
    Award for a novel of the highest literary merit published in the two years preceding the award by an author aged twenty-nine (29) years or less at the date of first publication. The author must be resident in Australia for the twelve months preceding the award and must be either Australian or British born, or be a naturalised Australian. Contact us to confirm competition closing date.
  • WK Hancock Prize
    The WK Hancock Prize gives recognition and encouragement to an Australian scholar who has recently published a first book in any field of history. Awarded for a first book published in the two years preceding the year of the award. Author must be normally resident in Australia. If more than one winner, the cash award is shared. A 'first book' means first to appear under the author's name. Nominations can be made by the author, the publisher (with author's permission) or a member of the Australian Historical Association. Entries should include a letter of nomination plus three copies of the book. Prize awarded in even years.
  • Book Abyss Writing Competition
    Open topic up to 1,000 words. Include cover letter with your name, address, word count, title, email address . For full details, please see website. www.thebookabyss.com.au
  • Bundaberg Writers Club Inc Unpublished Short Story Competition
    Short story to 2,500 words. Any theme. Please see website for entry form or post SSAE.
  • Henry Kendall Poetry Competition
    Download entry forms/conditions from web-site www.centralcoastpoets.com.au Open theme. Permanent residents of Australia eligible. No restriction on number of entries. Entries must not be previously published or currently entered in other competitions. Maximum length of poems is 32 lines. Conducted every second year. Entry forms and guidelines available from late previous year. A selection of poems is published in the anthology which follows the competition. Copyright remains with authors. Contact organisers to confirm opening & closing dates.
